To our knowledge, the only kiln formed lampshades in stained glass are made today by the Lyn Hovey Studio Inc. in Boston and its branch Estudio de Lyn Hovey SA, in Antigua Guatemala.
Each lampshade is carefully handmade and individually bench marked. As such, each of our lampshades becomes a collectors piece as well as a wise investment.
100 years ago, lampshades that were kiln formed like ours, but less complicated in design, were
created in the US . Today those lampshades range between three and ten times on the auction
market the present day cost of lampshades in the Lyn Hovey Studio collection.
Our clients may choose a base of their own, look for a new or antique base of their choosing,
or purchase a lamp base designed by Lyn Hovey.
